EUROPEAN GRAND PRIX

There has been a European Grand Prix,, on and off, since the 1980's.

It was originally alternated between Euroean Formula One Host Circuits but then from 1999 until 2007 it was held at the Nurburgring track.

In 2007 it was announced that Valencia had been awarded the European Grand Prix for 7 years, the first race to be held in 2008.

This means that Spain actually has 2 grand prix - one in Barcelonacalled the Spanish Grand Prix and then later in the season the European Grand Prix in Valencia. It is most unusual for a country to be awarded more than one grand prix.

The Valencia European Grand Prix is a street race round the port area. This is an area which was completely restyled with the Americas Cup in mind.

THE EUROPEAN GRAND PRIX, IN VALENCIA, IS SCHEDULED TO TAKE PLACE AUGUST 24, 2008
